Mani Bolouri is a composer and a virtuoso player of the kamancheh and Gheychak. His composition has variously been described as having qualities of inherent beauty and strong musical structure that make it a satisfying musical entity.

Mani Bolouri began his musical studies under guidance of the Masters Darvish Reza Monazami and Dovood Ganjehee at the age of twelve. From these masters he learned the radif of Persian classical music. Besides an extensive background in Iranian classical and folk music, Bolouri studied Western classical music with grand master Mohammad Saeed Sharifian for five years. He continued his education at the Tehran Art University where he received his M.A. in composition. Bolouri studied with various masters such as Taleb Khan Shahidi, Khayam Mirza Zadeh, Shrif Lotfi, Ahmad Pejman and Siyavash Beyzaee .

In 1995 he was invited to work in the National Radio and Television Orchestra of Iran, where he performed for ten years as a composer and performer. He has more than forty recordings in the television’s archive.

Bolouri published a book for children, titled “Music Mountain” for piano. He has been teaching music for over fifteen years. He founded Shahrzad ensemble in Iran. His ensemble performed “Leyli and Majnoon” a pieces for orchestra, voice and play. In 2005, Iranian National Television’s Festival in Iran declared him the best composer. He has composed many works of contemporary and neo-classical Iranian music.

He came to the United States in 2005 and has appeared on many TV and radio interviews with live performance. He has performed extensively throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. Bolouri currently lives in Los Angeles, and teach Persian music and composition.
